Inaccurate 4bar Map Sensor

Post by moruha »

Hi, just one question, is there a way I can match the reading in the MAP Sensor and in my Boost gauge, the problem is that my boost gauge is reading 9 psi of boost while the Map sensor only read 5 psi..

Is there a way to correct this??

Thanks in advance

No there is not. Is this a mechanical or electronic gauge?

Where is the pressure source for the gauge?

I can't see where you boost gauge is connected, but the difference is because of the way your boost gauge reads and your elevation.

The MAP has an absolute reference, so 5 psi is 5+14.7 = 19.7 psi absolute.

The boost gauge reads boost relative to atmospheric pressure, which is 78 kPa / 11.2 psi absolute. So at 19.7 psi absolute pressure, the boost gauge will read 19.7-11.2 = 8.5 psi relative, which is close to what you said it reads.

19.7 psi absolute pressure, so 5 psi as sea level.
