having an issue with a car that is running E85. only problem is getting it started. the tuning is going great but when we shut the car off it will not start on its own power. it will start on starting fluid.

I have tried adding to the crank fuel table with no luck
30%
60%
90%

Car is a 14:1 compression LS bored to 84mm. when i was there it was on oem fuel pump. He tried again with a walboro 255 and still nothing. any help please!

Try taking fuel out cranking like -30% ether is super volitale and as such burns very fast E85 burns slowly so decreasing the amout of fuel being injected should increase the oxygen level that is in the fuel mixture and make it burn a bit faster in theory. which in turn should help with your starting problem.

im pretty sure i did pull fuel and it didnt work. will try again and report back. what you say makes sense thanks.

pulled fuel and no help. sorry for the long update. still will not start o its own. is there work that needs to be done on the iat and ect tables? apparently the cranking fuel is doing nothing for me.

Does it start when the engine has been running for a while before you shut it off (when the engine is still hot) or does it just never start on its own no matter the condition.

some more info form him it will not start cold or after fully warm. after running letting it cool down about 20min it will start on its own???

Well Im not sure if this is going to help or not but I adjusted the base cranking pulse vs ECT table so that It fit the information you gave me about when it will start on its own so hopefully this helps.

yea i played with that table last nigt with some over the phone support. we got it to start but we found a battery issue. going to take care of battery problem then try again.

BAttery problem fixed and using the table worked. this is fixed now.

Im glad to hear you got it figured out. If I may ask what were the final values that were put in to the talbe to make it work.

sorry for the long response. it took 30ms to get it to start on its own in the last 4 columns. this is still on the stock pump. he got a bum walboro when we did the testings but now has another new one to put in and we will try lowering the number.

what is your timing at 500 rpm load 9/10 (just after firing?) should you retard a bit from stock -4, since u got 14:1 compression?
