92 lx cranks but no start

i bought this car in this condition. it has a newer motor in it but its still a f22

It cranks but will not start unless i spray carb cleaner into the intake then it will start and drive ok but it idles rough as hell when in gear at idle.

It will also start back up after driving it for a while when its heated up

The check engine light stays on and the d4 is flashing.

I changed the plug wires that didnt help,so i took it to a shop and they said it need a iat sensor and ignition rotor so that was changed.still no luck.they said i needed a new ecm so i got one and that didnt help either now theyre sayin that there is a wiring issue where the ecm has a "hot" wire to it thats not supposed to be there i think its a crock of shit personally.What can cause this any help would be nice

The S4 flashed on mine when I tested a manual trans ecu in it. I think there is a pic on this site somewhere that shows on an ecu how to check which one the ecu is set for, but don't get me lying, I'm a newbie.
