Problems installing s200

Okay, I am so frustrated, I can do anything. I have had the worst luck with installing my Hondata and RC 440 injectors. I am staring to think there is something wrong with the Hondata unit. I have removed all of the JR components and installed the RC injectors and The Hondata Unit. Which by the way is an S200 and Computer unit from hondata. Everything is supposed to be ready to run my car, but with the Hondata plugged in I cant get the car to run. When I start it, it will rev and then die. If I try to hold a higher rpm (3000-4000) the revs jump up and down.???!!!?!?!?! When I plug in the factory comp it seems to idle okay, its a little rough, but I am guessing that is because of the 440 injectors. I cant get a good answer from anyone at Hondata, or anywhere for that matter. Also, with the factory comp If I try to hold the higher rpms everything seems fine, I can rev the car up and down wihtout any trouble. As one would expect, with the 440's and the factory comp the car is rich, but with the hondata the car is extremely lean. The wideband wont even register how lean because it stops at 20:1. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure your base map is set up for the 440's?

I would recommend trying another basemap.

What year chassis is it? Do you have some sort of OBD conversion harness?

Well, there is no way for me to tell anything about the base map. I am trying to eliminate everything I possibly can before I send the unit in to get checked. I have been working with matt and he said that every computer they send out is set for 440's. I hope I find the problem soon, I am stating to go crazy. As far as the chassis goes, I have a 2001 type R. I bought the unit from Jackson Racing which is supposed to be setup to plug right into my car. I was wondering if there was a chance that they sent me one for the 97-99?

what ecu are you using? resistor box? if it is just a base map they sent you, that's what it is. perhaps they need to set the multiplier to a higher number so it will get more fuel if it is showing lean. i started with mine by using a standard map. once the map is created, i do the calc for the bigger injectors and try to start the car. if it idles lean, i just up the multiplier till it gets around where it should be. makes it easier to start tuning from. just my thoughts. where are you located at?

turbo_civic_si, I have what I believe is a p28. There is no resistor box. I bought the kit from jackson racing which came with rc 440 injectors and a pre programed comp. Matt at hondata told me that all of their computers are sent out with a 440 program. so...

With the new plugs installed, the car will now start up and idle. The idle is at around 800rpm and is kinda rough. I can also rev the car at this point. however, the car is still very lean. I checked the timming and it is 20+ with the distributor retarded all the way. This leads me to believe there is a problem within the computer. Does the hondata have any control over the initial timming? If there is anyone in the knoxville area with a romulator and related software, I would appreciate a little help.
thanks

Another funny thing, does the hondata effect the warm up cycle? usually the car starts up and idles high for a few minutes and then steps down to the idle. now, the car just starts and drops to 800 rpm. (the car normally idles at 900-950)

If you have a JRSC, did you make sure to relocate the MAP sensor to the intake manifold and remove the relay from the IAT sensor? I forgot to do that when I installed my 440s and HONDATA and that's how it acted.
