Flashpro to ECU upload not working V 1.1.8.5

Post by 2point »

Name is Ryan - Edit, everything working fine now with BETA software.
2008 Civic Si - K&N drop in air filter and a HPS silicone intake tube are the only mods. regular maintenance.
Flashpro SN FP-SI-US-11581

I've been a Flashpro owner for over a year and have uploaded many calibrations in multiple ways.

All of a sudden I can't use Flashpro to update my ECU after downloading V1.1.8.5. All the cals. I'm trying to used have been saved using v1.1.8.5.

What is odd is that I can use my Laptop linked to Flashpro to update my ECU though. I will also datalog fine and download to my computer fine. I can also upload cals straight to the flashpro just fine as well.

attached are examples that wouldn't upload flashpro to ECU.

Any thoughts?

Can you be more specific about what is not working?

So are you saying that only certain calibrations will not upload?

I'll lay it out best I can play by play here

1.) Adjust calibration and save to computer.
2.) upload new calibration from computer to Flashpro
3.) take just the flashpro to the car and plug it in the diagnostic port
4.) turn ignition to on
5.) hit program
6.) program light turns red,
6.1) then starts to blink for a little bit
6.2) then stays red for XXX minutes
7.) I get sick of waiting for the red light to go off and I turn car to off
8.) flashpro still has the gree on light and the red program light on
9.) I unplug the flashpro and prey that it or my ECU is not broke

It's done this with 3 different calibrations. I have been able to upload each one successfully with my computer though. If you want, send me a calibration to try for my given mods. I'm not sure why this would work any different but at least it would give an extra data point.

again, this only started happening after I updated software to V 1.1.8.5

I can't exactly recall if I got it to work once before I had this problem.

XXX minutes is how long? The time to watch a porn movie?

If you have uploaded and it fails, then send us support information immediately afterwards and we can look to see the cause.

To reiterate the lights, solid red for like 10 seconds, flashing red, then solid red for 3 minutes or more untill I shut car off and the lights still stay on until I unplug the FP from the port.

I tried another upload last night and no dice. I let the solid red light stay on for around 2-3 minutes, I unpluged the FP from the port after the car was turned off, then plugged back into port, turned car on, then plugged my laptop into the FP and no error report showed up.

I will try another upload tonight and after it fails, I'll remove the FP from the port and the immediately hook up to my computer before I hook the FP back up to the car port.

well, I don't really know what to say. No error report was created. It seems like it thinks it's done uploading but not and freezes up with just a minimal amount of data to transfer.

The flashing red stays on the for the same amount of time as when I use the computer to upload. The solid red just stay solid instead of going solid for like 2 seconds and then the car makes a sound saying it's ready.. .

let me know what you think I should do next.

I don't really understand why you guys keep asking for support information if I keep telling you that NO ERROR CODES pop up after a failed upload and hence, no support information was sent.

BTW, sent where?

Maybe I just don't know what support information is I guess.. . Screen shots do wonders.

This post doesn't detail any support information that I haven't given

Ok, we've got it. The problem seems to go back to the beginning, but got worse after an upload with the battery voltage below 10V. We'll be in touch shortly.

just to recap this thread.

Emails from Hondata said that the newest BETA software would solve the problem. It did.

Thank you for the support

Ryan

funny thing is, I don't need my Flashpro anymore. I found a pearl of a S2000 at a Honda dealer and it's what I'm driving now! 2006 AP2 Silverstone! woot. Now I need a S2000 flashpro !! Too bad I just can't use my current one.. .
