I've been installing several S300's lately and I'm spending too much time punching out the hole with a Dremel (I'm anal about how it looks). Is there anternative/shortcut/better method of preparing the ECU case?

Make two vertical cuts with a hacksaw. Break off the tab with pliers. Smooth with file.

BTW this is not how we do it here - we have a milling machine.

If you have access to a drill press, you can use an end mill..

Something like this will make a nice flat bottom..
