- FlashPro Manager version 1.1.7.4
- 2009 S2000, completely stock except invidia Q300 cat-back exhaust
Could someone look at my latest data log and tell me if there is any obvious reason why my car is getting knock? It's a 2009 S2000 with only 8k on the odometer, virtually stock except the Q300 exhaust and the Flashpro. I'm using a tweaked calibration of the "Tuned" S2000 profile. This is the second time this week during a datalog that my car has recorded knock, both times it occurred during stop and go driving and mostly on cylinder #2. The attached data log only show a knock count of 3, the previous data log shows a knock count of 10. If someone could look this over and give any suggestions it would be appreciated.

Re: Why am I getting knock?
What was the time frame that you got the 10 knocks?
Re: Why am I getting knock?
I'll have to find that datalog when i get home from work, but it was about a 15-20 minute datalog. I think I remember seeing 2-3 knocks at the beginning then 6-7 more knocks very close together towards the end of the log.
Re: Why am I getting knock?
I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Re: Why am I getting knock?
Each time I've recorded knock on a datalog it's been within a cycle or two of driving after a reflash of the ECU. Could these knocks have to do with the ECU adapting to the new values from the reflash? It's only a concern for me because the car has very low mileage and I don't consider my tune/mods to be very aggressive.
Re: Why am I getting knock?
Wouldn't it be causing power loss because of the ignition retard?Spunkster wrote:I wouldn't worry too much about that.
Re: Why am I getting knock?
hello,
i checked your datalog. i noticed that u r at gears 4 & 5 respectively at first and second knocks. your RPM levels are very low (just over 1,000) just before the knocks and u were stepping on gas; not WOT but a gentle press.
consequently it seems that u r at a high gear with a low RPM and cylinder 2 knocks. in my opinion this is an expected outcome.
however, the third one occurs at gear 1, the above explanation is not valid for the last knock.
