AFM ignition compensation

Post by junky »

I hope this is the appropriate place for a feature request!

I'm a total noob with this tuning bit so perhaps I'm approaching this the wrong way, but hear me out. I'm running a stock '11 si with the tuned MAF base calibration. I've dialed in (I think) the AFR's and have been scaling back the ignition timing but have not successfully dialed-out reproducible-knock on 6th gear 75mph uphill (or during WOT) conditions. (I can also get it by WOT in 6th at some lower rpms.) I noticed that the MAP calibrations have the option to retard the timing per gear. I figure (I can code) that should be an easy addition to the MAF/AFM code that would make me pretty happy!

If anyone has any other suggestion for this, I'm all ears.

Thanks!

Edit: Just noticed that (again, with AFM) the WOT table does not seem to be controlled by MAP. I have a data log where I'm at MAP=950mbar, RPM=3795 and it is still in closed loop. For that data log, I was using the standard "tuned stock" MAF WOT determining pressures. I suspect that if that was functioning properly I could get away without the gear compensation.
