Hello,
Don't know if this is a feature I just haven't found, but I don't believe so. I've been using FPM for a while now and have tuned my own vehicle.
As I'm sure many of us know when using a MAP tune, that we generally have ignition for WOT columns higher than stock. While this is good when actually flooring it, there comes times where this is a bit of a hassle.
When cruising in 6th or 5th for example and I want to accelerate, but don't need to do it quickly, I'll just lay into the throttle lightly, and this will sometimes bring my MAP pressure up to 80-90kPa, which puts me in WOT. We all know that the increased ignition timing causes knocks. Is there a way to have ignition timing retarded when hitting columns 8+ in gears 5 and 6? I know that there's a static compensation by gear, but doesn't that remove timing across the board, which would result in less fuel economy while cruising in 6th?
When I was looking at the datalog I have of driving under various conditions with the factory stock tune, it would appear that Honda retards timing in 6th gear under the higher load columns. I only saw it pull timing in 6th gear, not when I was ripping through the other gears.
Perhaps a feature request? or is there a better way to go about this? I don't think it should be necessary to downshift to 4th to accelerate from 60 to 70.
Thanks
