JRSC Hondata

Post by Civicman »

I have a 2000 Honda Civic Si with JRSC @6.5psi, i/h/e, and fuel pump.
I wanted to get the preprogramed Hondata and injectors offered from Jackson Racing.

Is there a wiring harness that lets me keep the OBDII or does my ecu get replaced with the OBDI? Also, are the maps set for 6.5psi, 8.5psi or 11psi? I wanted to get a 8.5psi pulley when I install the Hondata. Do I need a dyno or datalogger or ROM Editor to install it?

Sorry, I'm kinda new to the Hondata.

I'll hit the bullet points here, but you definitely should go read through Hondata's web site (including the link above). All of your questions are answered there.

The original OBD-II ECU gets yanked and placed on a shelf (or sold, though not many people want 'em). In its place goes a modified OBD-I ECU with a Hondata ROM that connects to your original wiring harness using an adapter.

One set of fuel/timing maps will handle varying boost levels--higher boost just takes you into higher MAP columns, adding more fuel.

You don't need a dyno nor datalogger/ROM Editor to use the Hondata JRSC kit. However, you REALLY REALLY should get your car dyno-tuned by an experienced Hondata tuner. The Big Boost maps are the best I've seen for an out-of-the-box map, but every car is different, and the maps as provided won't match your setup perfectly.
