fuel system error code while compression braking

Posted on H-T and everyone told me they had no idea...so heres a question:

I have a built gsr internals in ls block, stock ls head (but did it with b16 head as well). I'm on S300 with O2 disabled and pretty much everything disabled in the misc. tab.

The car runs great and has no problems....except when I start compression braking. Sometimes I will be driving and let off the gas and after about 5 seconds it throws a code 43 (i believe) I know its a fuel system error because that is what it says. The code clears when the car is started again and doesnt show until compression braking is seen again. I had a walbro 255 and it did it, since my turbo is off switched to the stock fuel pump and still compression brake and get the code. I was thinking fuel filter. The injectors are stock 240cc's out of an LS.

Just want to be able to compression brake without this code

-Phil

If you need anymore details just ask. The calibration is a stock LS integra map.

What is compression brake means?

When you take your foot off the gas and let the car slow down by itself, i.e. by compression.

If were getting technical:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compression_braking

The term engine braking usually refers to the braking effect caused by throttle position induced vacuum in petrol (gasoline) engines. While some of the braking force is due to friction in the drive train, this is negligible compared to the effect from vacuum.
When the throttle is lifted less air is allowed to pass through the intake manifold, and the engine works against this vacuum. It is the deceleration of the engine against this vacuum which provides the braking effect.

So the mods dont get mad

Civic eg hatch 1992
Hondata S300 in P28 (Forged Performance)
The engine is a LS head, stock IM, 70mm BDL TB, 3" intake and filter, 3" exhaust, stock LS cams. Block is B18B1 bored over Forged CP GSR pistons (9:1) Eagle rods Gsr crank. Tranny is a 1994 LS integra, clutchmasters stage 4 clutch.

I can datalog if this would help tomorrow, but don't know if it will help? Just need some input

are you still running your stock 02 sensor? Are you in closed loop or open loop? If you still using stock o2 sensor, then try replacing it, it happened to me before and I put a brand new sensor and problem went away. I hope this help.

Could it be your purge control solenoid valve?

so many modifications and a stock map?? i´m also using the 70mm bdl tb, and it took a while, to set the overrun fuel cutoff that it´s working properly!
post a logfile please

No O2 sensor besides the wideband, a/f are perfect because I dont smash on it. My B16 head is in the shop and it was tuned and still had same problem. It is in closed loop.

No purge control solenoid valve on this motor.

No modifications on the stock map because I just changed the head out when I took the B16 to the machine shop....W/b shows proper A/f's though (innovatives)

The fact the you say its the TB might very well be and this was something that I was thinking about. It showed no signs of this problem same motor tuned with the turbo. Left the TB on and want to change it back to stock but Im missing a idle adjustment screw. I will post a log file tomorrow hopefully. Weather has been really bad here...

tried all last night to datalog the problem and it wouldnt happen at all every time I tried. Then this morning on the way to school was in fifth gear and boom CEL after compression braking slightly like 3 seconds. So now I will try to datalog it today. Maybe I can get it recorded!

Going to change TB and changed fuel filter. Will try to datalog the problem again not
