How does ign compensation by gear works?

as above, how does the compensation works?

I am currently experiencing knock at gear 6, around 2500~3000 rpms.

Do i advance or retard the compensation?

does the compensation work across the entire rpm range for the gear?

Just put a -1 in the 6th gear field. Yes it works across all rpm/load ranges in that gear.
