ECT Compensation

Post by pando »

Hi,

I'm having trouble with the idle of the car when hot. Normal outside Temp here in Puerto Rico is usually from 86-100 degrees F. When i run the car and the ECT goes up to 185F, sometimes when the fans kick in the RPM tends to drop from the normal 850 to about 670 and comes back up, almost as if the car were to stall.

I did some datalog (cold start & hot run) and under outside temp of (86F) car idle is stable from start up to when is warmed up. But as noticed onced run the ECT goes to 190F, but in some cases if the outside temp is well in the 90-100F the ECT is about 190F-195F.

My question is, can the drop in rpm while idle under hot conditions has to do with the ECT compensation tables (as the values under low go only up to 185F) or is it something else?

I have the datalogs saved which i can attatch upon request.

Thanks for the Help!
