kpro upload fail/security fail

im tyring to erase ecu, and says security fail, i try to upload something, says upload fail, any advice? im using v1.4.1.0

its an ep3 ecu w kpro on a k20z3 motor with a k20a2 engine harness and hybrid conversion harness in a 93 civic hatch

What is the serial number of the K-Pro board inside the ECU?

umm not sure where to look, opened the ecu, theres a barcode w the numbers 05004536. if i plug it into my laptop it says, hardware version 2.16 serial number 04536 firmware version 2.02 firware ok YES security disabled software version 1.4.1.0

also, with the ignition on, laptop connected, ecu gets extremely hot, used another ecu w kpro, same things happened...extremely hot and couldnt upload

Hmm, that's not good, I've run the ECU for hours during debugging and it barely gets warm. Double-check that power is going to the correct pins.

yeah it happened on both ecus so it cant be the actual ecu, has to be wiring somewhere, but where

By "ignition on" do you mean the car's started or just the key's turned?

the key is turned to 2nd postion and k manager reads ignition on

You should try the ECU in a known good car.

ecu was fine, changed out the engine harness and everything is good, so i guess the result was bad engine harness, not sure exactly what but thanks
