Can a jdm P72 control boost without adding boost components to ECU.

No, and the components cannot be added, it is incapable of controlling boost.

I know this topic is old, but are we refering to the small jdm p72? or the large jdm p72 as well?

JDM P72 is the smaller ECU

USD P72 is the larger ECU and has the circuit (components needed) for boost control
