question about fuel tables index.

Post by mcneil »

I have a high compression b series, and went out to tune the car last night setting the rev limitor to 9400rpm. Making a pull to rev limitor, as i approaced 8900rpm i noticed the wideband on the graph flat line along with the timing. letting off, i checked the datalog and as i got to the end of the datalog, i noticed the fuel table index ends at 8950.

My question is how do i add more tables so i can rev the car higher without running out of the fuel table... I beleive i have to recalibrate all the index columns for the rpm. or is there another easier way then that.

thanks!

right click on the RPM index on the left in the fuel table and "add RPM index"

ive done that and it doesnt add any more columns, it just changes the number thats in that perticular box, unless done at the top of the map, where it adds one, but still doesnt have the fuel table higher then 8950.

If i was going to rev the car 9500, i would make the rpm index go to 10100. With 20 index columns, that means each column needs to be 505 difference, 505, 1010 etc. if i had to edit the rpm index.

Do i need to do this to the make and pretty well start my tune over?

i think, that it is the specific size of the table, which can't be changed.

i managed it like i changed the whole table index, thinkig about the fact, that i don't need VTEC at 3500rpm but at maybe 5000rpm and upwards.

so i deleted the index with low rpm and added some to the high revs.

I sorta understand what your saying. So the low side of the fuel table, i wouldnt need to change any of the values, but once i hit the high side of the fuel table, i need to change only the higher portion of the map, say 5000+..??

do the increments that change from index box to index box have to be same throughout or can i make 1000 rpm jumps on the low side of the high fuel table to 4500, with smaller increments on the high side to the limiter?

i think i worded that right, hope you can understand.. thanks

i did it like that in the attachment.

note, that this aren't the real fuel values! this is a starting map for tuning...

but you are looking for the table index, so i think it's ok.
