local tuner calls me off craigslist and wants to buy my s300. says hell give me cash plus a virgin p72. when I say no he gets mad and says that im better off running a factory p72 rather than a p72 base map on hondata. is he blowing smoke up my ass or what?

are the base map calibrations in smanager the exact same as a factory ecu or are they like a blank canvas that will start the car and only ment for tuning and to be played with?

The Hondata base maps will run a STOCK engine just fine. They are the factory calibrations.

once again someone add's useless info.

I know stock basemaps run stock motors just fine, I did not ask that.

I have a built motor, I need a tune. now that that is out of the way.

I want to know will a factory gsr ecu run a motor better than a gsr basemap in smanager.

since the hondata GSR map is equal to the stock GSR ECU map, the car will run with hondata as fine as with a non-Hondata-Stock ECU.

there aren't any differences.

and since you have a built engine, you just shouldn't drive it without a tune, that could bring you damages, which will show out after thousends of miles.

let it tune and don't bother which stock ECU or map is best for your engine, because only a tuned map is good for your engine and nothing else
