two error codes i need help fixing (revised with new info)

Post by BrockB »

serial number: FP-S2K-US-30074

flashpromanager version: 1.1.4.7

vehicle: 2008 s2000

Mods: mase engineering turbo kit

problem description: emission errors

-vehicle calibration attached
- drive 1 datalog attached
- drive 2 datalog attached

Im running a Mase kit with hondata flashpro ems on a 08 S2K.

its been running fine for several months, until recently during normal driving I have a check engine light that is on for two error codes:

1. P0455: evaporative emission control system leak detected (gross leak)

2. P0457: evaporative emission control system leak detected (possible fuel cap loose/off

The first error code is something I've been seeing for a few weeks- I tried clearing it twice and it comes back on after driving a while. The 2nd one is more recent, but I checked my fuel cap and everything is attached. There are no obvious signs of engine problems when driving.

Is this a serious error code? Can I fix it easily or is it more technical, and if so, how?

Im new with flashpro so thanks for the help guys

You should always follow the troubleshooting steps in the Helms manual for any error code.

I finally got a hold of mase to fix the problem. I downloaded the newest flashpro, then reloaded my primary calibration and unchecked the purge/emission box with "calibration"

no error codes anymore.. :)

but out of curiousity, what does unchecking this purge/emiss box actually do to the car?

just need to learn..

thanks

More than likely you have eliminated some of yoru emissions equipment which caused the errors.

What does that do and How bad is this for the car? Is this a serious issue or minor?
