few questions for the noob

Post by VMF »

im going to start with what i did so far.
1. relocated the battery to the back
2. brand spanking new oem engine 6 speed harness installed
3. dc5 manual instrument cluster installed
4. wires next to fuse box cut and grounded
5. hybrid racing harness installed
6. hondata ecu connected
7. charge harness messed with, shortened etc.
8. coils and injectors are not connected, but all sensors are
when i turn the ignition on, oil indicator lights up along with abs
at this point k manager still says ignition off, even though there is steady 12v on the ignition signal wire, tested with voltmeter.
when i try to crank i dont even get the lights dimmed but the oil indicator becomes 2 times brighter but no crank
this is a 2001 em2 used to be LX with auto now with 2003 k20a2 and compustar alarm is still installed
also i have different answers about loading the map into kpro
some ppl say i should be able to do it even when the ecu is out of the car and others say it has to be in the car in order to load the map.
when i connect the ecu while its out of the car, all the online options with the exception of the info one are grayed out.
and when the ecu is in the car its the same thing as well. not sure what its due
please advice.

Try the ECU in a known good vehicle and see if it works. It sounds like you have a wirin problem somewhere though. You can only upload while in a vehicle with the ignition in the on position.

finding a good car that i can test it on might be a bit of a problem
any suggestions as to where to start looking for the wiring issue?
