please help ! car is my DD :(

Post by mr.koupe »

am having a slight issue. i have a hybrid racing conversion harness, kpro. everything was working fine and i was riding along creating a datalog when i hit a bump in the road and the car shuts off and now it wont crank, turns over fine but not running. on top of that the k-manager stopped reading the vehicle (ignition on) when connected to the k-manager. but still reads (online) and the kpro has a solid green light. i believe it may be a loose wire but i dont know what wire to check for the ign signal and if that is even the right issue to address. i have looked in a few places already on here and cant find my answer. help!

today i tried it in another rsx and the green light was solid but the red led was flashing.

If this happened when there was a bump, then check fuses and all wiring for shorts and loose connections. Check the grounds as well.

Agreed - loose connection for sure. Either a connector separated (it wasn't fully-seated), or a ground screw hasn't been tightened down. The way I find them is to get the car started, then go over every inch of the harness, wiggling every part of it. When you get to the bad spot, the car will hickup.

If it won't start now, then check that every connector you've touched recently is fully-seated, and than all ground screws are tight.
