fuel compensation with 1000CC injectors

was going to use one of the stock fuel compensation tables but the guy that tuned my car told my that in other words adding +10% of fuel on 240cc injectors is not the same as +10% fuel for 1000cc injectors. Is this true? The stock tables add up to 39% fuel when the engine is cold and that sounds like a lot of fuel added to a set of 1000cc injectors. But I'm new at this. That's why I have so many questions. The tuner told me that for fuel economy I should tune the car my self because it takes a lot of time for that. I drive my car 61 mile one way to work every day so I was force to try this. Thank you for any help.
