cooling fan help

Post by hon_drvr »

I jave recently put a obd1 b16a into a 93 civic ex. i used the ex wiring harness and both the computers will run the engine. one of my problems is there is no fan turn on. i have a temp. reading on the dash which looks correct but there is never a fan turned on. i was wondering if in fact the cooling fan circuit is stand alone like some other cars. also the idle is very high like 2100 any help on these problems would be greatly appricated

pull the negative battery cable off for a few, then reconnect.

It seems like my radiator fan NEVER turns on either...I have no CELs though and my operating temperature is great year round. I mean obviously I don't know whether or not it's on going down the highway, but after a long drive if I pop my hood and keep letting it run, the fan NEVER comes on. Strange, innit?

If you're using Hondata, it doesn't matter which ECU you use. If you are running OEM, then use the ECU that came with the motor for sure, assuming it is indeed the ECU for that motor.
