obd1 resister box cel 14 need help.

I have a 96 teg lsvtec turbo .50 trim. 450 injec, just rebuilt. we were running it and it was fine... and then it started kinda like "giving out" while driving, not stalling. but just not giving power to the engine. then we realized we never hooked the resister box back in after we swapped b16 heads...car was running...ECU probably should have been fried...but it isn't i dont think took off the resister box and car was just fine..just not going anywhere after a little bit.... have a p28 ecu chipped and socket, as soon as we pluged resister box in car won't stay on and a cel 14 for Idle air control valve. can't figure out why tested everything from the obd1 conversion harness...to just about everything..anyone know any cause of the problem?

It sounds like a wiring problem in the vehicle. Try the ECU in a known good car to verify the ECU is still working correctly.

Yeah, only thing that boggles me mind is that w/o the resister box plugged it in was fine.. for the most part...just didn't wanna move to much... as soon as we plugged the resister box in immediate CEL 14... gonna go back over wiring probably and wiring in harness.. just doesn't make since that it came on as soon as we plugged the resister box in.

Sauder joints o ecu look fine transisters dont look or smell burnt. Compared side by side to a virgin p28. Is it possible for something else to give out. Didnt have a cel with the risitor box not plugged in......any help would be good thanks
