Low impedence injectors without resistor box = damaged p30?

The motor was running some low impedence injectors for a few days without a resistor box. Its on a P30 S300 ecu.
Opened up the ecu and there are no visible signs of any damage.
Now, motor runs crazy rich when vtec is engaged. Like from 13:1 before vtec to 9:1 once vtec engages. In order to tune it back to normal wot AFR of about 13:1 the map has to be adjusted to extremely low pulse width and there is no power.
Seems the engine is dumping the fuel and not igniting well.
Could this be a damaged ecu sending the wrong pulse widths or the distributor coils giving up?
I've not tried a new coil yet. Will report once i get a new coil fitted.
