Battery Light

For some reason, I've had a battery light ever since I installed k-pro in my 01 civic. It wasn't there before I installed the k-pro, and showed up as soon as I installed it and the light hasn't gone away. The first thing I did was check the voltage across the battery and at the alternator. Both check out fine. I've checked all the fuses and the grounds as well. No blown fuses, and all of the grounds are now clean and shiny. Any help is greatly appreciated.

You havne't really given enough information to let us know what has been done to the car.

Basically stock d17a1. d16y8 intake mani, I/H/E that normal sort of stuff. The only thing pertinent I can think of is that the battery was relocated. But even with the relocation, for the life of me I can't figure out why it would be throwing a battery light. Voltage checks out at the alternator and at the battery and it didn't show up until after k-pro was installed. The battery relocation has been there for over a year with no issue.

If you hook the stock ecu back up does the light go away?

Honestly, I'm not sure... the car won't run on the stock ECU anymore. Between the intake manifold swap, bigger injectors, and the special cam gear, it won't even so much as crank over on the stock ECU. I'll give that a shot and see if that fixes the problem as soon as I have a chance. If that does cure the light, what would the problem be?

Maybe you have changed the wrong wires in the harness when you converted to use the K-Pro. No one else using the K-Pro for the D17 has had these issues.

If you have not changed the wires as it says you should start by doing that:

thanks for the info but i'm not using the secondary o2 sensor as i have a aem wideband installed , the hondata d17 page states "If you have OBD 2 disabled and do not need to use the secondary O2 then it is not necessary to move the wires."

with the stock original ecu i don't get a battery light only with the PNF hondata kpro v4 ecu. I'm having this issue now stock d17a2 civic with Kpro. Didn't modify harness just plugged in Kpro and did the hondata cam gear. Battery charges fine reads 14 volts but. alternator tested and works perfectly no check engine light or error code

Move the wires first even if they are not used, as them being in the wrong position may be the cause of your problem.
