Anybody instaled a ZIF socket?

Post by jbbauer »

I'm damaging my EPROM (28pin Atmel AT29c256) pins everytime I remove it. Hondata is recommending I install a ZIF socket. Anybody done this? Part numbers? I'm assuming the ZIF is two parts, one pushed on the EPROM and the other pushed into the ECU socket and require no soldering?

JUst buy 5 pcs. 28 pin sockets and 1 ZIF socket. You need the sockets to clear the PA sensor.

5-28 pin sockets make sense, with that damn PA sensor being in the way. Where can I get a ZIF socket (manufacturer/part#)
