Interpolate VS Smooth

When do I use one over the other?

I have been using smooth on my tuning, but how can interpolate help me?

I have played with interpolate on the pc, but have not tried using it on the car... Looks like it it makes the map really linear.

I am sorry for such a noob question, but I am learing to tune my car my self since there are no tuners in my area.

If its important, I am tuning a single turbo.

Thanks
Adam

Thanks for the link, I have read that, and searched the forum for a better explaination.. but, nothing that really helped.

Maybe I can explain what I am doing better.

A friend driving me, I have my PLX wired to the ELD input. So as I see lean or rich areas I manually adjust, then looking at the graph it is really rough, so I select that area and then 'smooth' it. The next pull it seems to always be lean after smoothing(annoying)... then I end up having to add fuel, and its rough again and then smooth it, then richen again and smooth till it seems to be fairly smooth and rich enough... maybe interpolate would make this easier? So I was curious how interpolate was going to affect the map. I just want to know when interpolate is useful.

Thanks for any input
Adam

Don't just change one cell at a time. Look at the 2D view of the maps and artistically smooth them manually and you will have much better results.
