FlashPro Beta 1.1.3.4 (Live Tuning)

Post by Hondata »

Hondata is pleased to announce the release of Live Tuning for the FlashPro. This feature allows you to update the ECU in real-time, without waiting 90 seconds between uploads. Live tuning simplifies part throttle tuning and significantly reduces the time and cost of tuning your car.

• Fixed file association not working.
• Fixed windows themes.

V1.1.3.3 Changes:
• FlashPro firmware updated to version 12.
• Added maximum overlay interpolation value for lambda and sensor overlays.
• Improved speed for New Calibration window.
• When overlaying knock count show knock occurrence per cell rather then knock count.
• Added datalog playback controls.
• Added support for Windows Themes.
• [Civic Si - Race] Updated Civic-Si-Race-7-JRSC calibration with tuning improvements.

V1.1.3.2 Changes:
• [CTR - South Africa] Added to list of supported models (CTR Euro & some Race calibrations).
• [Civic Si - Mexico] Added to list of supported models (US & Race calibrations).
• [Civic Si - South America] Added to list of supported models (US & Race calibrations).
• [Civic 155hp - Asia] Added to list of supported models (Race calibrations only).

V1.1.3.1 Changes:
· Fixed table not showing selection after a calibration save.
· Fixed 4D tables not live tuning for cam angles above 0 degrees.

V1.1.3.0 Changes:
· Calibration window enhancements (color tables by value, changed value highlight).
· Added live tuning.
· Added datalog autosave.
· Changed file association to work with Windows Vista / 7 security.
· [Civic Si - Race] Added throttle dampeningenabled parameter.
· [Civic Si - Race, S2000] Added ignition warm up retardenabled parameter.
· [Civic Si - Race, S2000] Correct ECT cold ignition 'retard' to 'advance'.

hondata,

why is not an option to disable the dampening in first gear in AFM calibrations?

and

there is now a check box in AFM calibrations to use map to determine WOT. When the new beta is install the box is unchecked. What is "normal" in AFM calibrations, to determine WOT with MAP or not?

thanks in advance

@Hondata

It appears that when I toggle the live tuning and am using this, I cannot for the life of me get the FPro Manager software to highlight my selection. The area I run my mouse over to highlight is selected in the software, but it doesn't actually show it as selected (the selection box doesn't appear). The selection box randomly started working again last night.

On another note, is it possible turn completely turn off tracing in maps? It's extremely difficult to edit the maps in the middle of a live tuning section when it keeps jumping away from my selected table (say I'm editing the cam angles table, but the tracing jumps to the fuel right away). I had turned off all the tracing options in the Settings->Display section but the maps kept togging on me anyway.

The tracing will be fixed in teh next release.

You can go to Options and uncheck "tables follow VTEC" and "tables follow cam angle".

I don't even know if AFM calibrations have this.

Normally the ECU uses TPS to determine WOT and open loop. This does not work very well with forced induction, so there is a MAP option.

With this option, will I now be able to lock the ECU in open loop by lowering the MAP values to their minimum?

Yes, but then you'll find that the ECU uses the target AF from the WOT compensation tables, and you'll have a lot of fuel trim at part throttle.

What we've found works the best is to set the open loop MAP pressures to 80 kPa, and tune everything with closed loop working normally. If you need to make a fuel change in closed loop, FlashProManager will apply the fuel trims to the suggested changes so there is little advantage switching it to open loop.

So same behavior as the previous version. I had tried and noticed the same behavior, I even leaned out the WOT compensation tables. I was trying to do a 15.5:1 a/f lean burn cruise. Wasn't happy with the results and just went back to normal operation.

I uploaded the new Beta and disabled the warm up retard feature but when I started the car it still ran at 0 degrees timing for the first 30-60 seconds. So I don't think it's working. Unless I did something wrong.

Also, I don't see the individual cylinder trim in the live tuning options. The Individual cylinder timing trim is there but not the fuel. I was wondering if you were going to add it. Thanks Hondata.

Yea. It highlights the selected cells in the graph but the actual cells don't highlight when you select the cells you want to edit. Is there any reason for this?

Bingo, does the 1.1.3.1 beta fix this yet?

I even leaned out the WOT compensation tables
Read the help file - you cannot make the WOT compensation any leaner than stock.
I uploaded the new Beta and disabled the warm up retard feature but when I started the car it still ran at 0 degrees timing for the first 30-60 seconds.
Idle ignition is always around 0 degrees.
Also, I don't see the individual cylinder trim in the live tuning options
Live tuning is not possible for all tables.

V1.1.3.1 Changes:
· Fixed table not showing selection after a calibration save.

My idle ignition is around 10*. At least it floats between like 7* and goes up to 15* sometimes. I'm also having a weird idle issue where it almost stalls but then recovers and it will do it again every 20-30 seconds. But it only does it randomly. And mostly after a hard run.
