why an ecu swap? is vafc worthless if doing so?
I am trying to find out if what to do here . if i have a vafc that controlls my fuel settings and overrides the ecu settings for fuel correct. If thats right there would be no point in getting a different ecu for my 1995 vtec prelude right because again the vafc would override it. I am new to the ecu stuff someone was telling me to definately swap it out for a gsr one and i am just trying to get solid relaiable information on the subject the car is light ly modified with full exhaust flywheel intake and underdrive pulleys i may in the future have plans for an intake manifold and different cams maybe just jdm cams not quite sure. Is the V afc worthless just nioce to look at ? please any info would be appreciated Thanks
Changing ECUs does more than change your fuel tables. Also can change:
-Redline
-VTEC point
-Ignition tables
-Ability to use dual length runners
-Ability to use a knock sensor
A VAFC can change VTEC point and modify fuel tables only . I don't know many people with VAFC's so I don't know much about them.
