May have a dead S300?

So I currently have a P72 ECU that I socketed and all for s300, finally got the car built and tuned, so the other week I went to make some changes pulled back the carpet (while car is running) pulled the ecu out and went to plug the usb cable in and voila hondata goes red. Laptop see's that it's "there" and everything and I can connect to the ECU and upload maps to it but it won't start the car. It will crank and as soon as it starts it just dies. Thinking that this was probably something in the ECU I ordered another one online (P72) and picked up the usual parts from my hondata dealer. In the meantime I take it up to the shop and they put a different s300 module in the ecu and that one goes red. So I am thinking no problem I'll just re-socket the new ECU when it gets here and be back up and running. Well I did that and the new ECU did the exact same thing, and back up to the shop I went and we plugged in a different s300 into that ecu and it went red. So I have a third ECU but I don't know if I want to put that hondata unit in it sicne today I cut J1 on the first ECU (That I thought was dead) and it started up the car no problem other than running like crap. So now I am wondering if it really is the hondata unit. The build details are as follows:

- the calibration (as an attachment) (done)

- a datalog of a problem (as an attachment)

can't datalog cause s300 claims it's not happy

- what sort of vehicle you have

1998 Honda Prelude Base w/Sleeved H22A and 9.5:1 compression

- what sort of ECU you are using

P72 (USDM)

- anything about the car which has been modified from stock which may affect the ECU (don't include what sort of rims you have nor stereo etc).

All wiring is stock with the exception of the wire input for pwm control just running a skunk2 OBD2a ->OBD1 harness

- a specific description of the problem

Based on what you have said it sounds more like a problem with the wiring in the car. You said you have tried multiple s300's and ECUs and have the same problem. Have you tried the ECU and s300 in a known good vehicle?

The wiring in the car is factory and has never been modified, but I ended up getting the issue straightened out. Although I am not sure what the issue is yet. I may have had a dry/cold solder joint somewhere on my ecu because the one I just got back from the tuner (with my module in it) works fine now so I now have (possibly) 2 P72's that are fine already socketed for hondata so I will compare them to his and borrow an oscope from a friend and see if I can figure out what the issue is but I can assure you it's not the car since it's back up and running now... at this point just fishing for ideas at this point. I will probably check the outputs on the latch and see if they seem sane and validate the mosfets/transistors are healthy (as those seem the most likely culprits) but not quite sure what went wrong here
