Help! car dies on same hill in 3rd (kal & datalog inside

Post by 6spd_ek »

I could use some help here. My car dies the same time after rounding a right hand turn & going up a hill. I live on the hill so its tough to avoid

I see "injector ms" & "injector duty" drop to 0%!!!! (when this occurs @ 5:11) EDIT: the car has always had a full tank of gas

my guess is it may not be the tune but the car itself. its a k24a2 tsx with ITR tranny & limited slip in a '02 ep3

any tips? fyi I downshift to 2nd & the car pics back up in this case the roads were wet & I spun them a 'lil

You need to tell us exactly what time stamp this occurs.

sorry I guess I wasn't clear starts @ 5:11 ends near 5:12.5

I think it this case I should start by checking for loose wires & checking fuel lines (any tips appreciated). but it cant hurt to have someone look at the datalog. The car's power stumbles hard at 5:11 at 5:12.5 I start my downshift to 2nd & then car/power picks back up .

with lean protection off my motor didn't die out this time. any clue why or what I can change? dont I want lean protection on?

thanks again... attached is new datalog with lean protection off. the same hill is at 1:03

also is the vtc sweep common at 0:59 (command goes to 45vtc - remember I have a stock tsx cam gear limits to 25)

i am in upstate NY... The car was dyno tuned sometime ago & then the o2 crapped out. i just replaced it with an OEM honda one (which was in a PRB box), after replacing it I had the car street tuned. also the muffler is starting to fall apart internally & may choke the car off a little bit

whats wrong with the tune?

why did vtc command spike to 45 when the highest it is on any map is 25?

at 1:02.45 why is all the timing pulled to 3*?

I understand my 0 & 10 degree decel timing maps should be a little close but the lowest value is 27*

started over with a new basemap (using hondata's 04-05 tsx stock .kal) & adjusted a/f. so far so good. car runs much smoother

I hope to dyno on tuesday but currently knock is disabled. I have a new oem PRB (k20a2) knock sensor but I am not sure if I can use it on a TSX motor running what I believe to be a k20a3 (ep3) engine harness
