Unable to talk to my Kpro...

Post by 03k20A3Si »

Got a problem...Tried to check my parameters the other day and my laptop is unable to connect to the ECU. Usually with the key on and I plug it in via the USB, my Kmanager says "ECU online". Now it doesn't change...but my laptop senses the USB plugin, just won't allow me to talk to it? I've reinstalled my usb drivers and installed the latest k-manager with no luck. I've also used diff. computers too. Also checked my laptop with a buddies Kpro and it worked fine. Any ideas??

What shows up in the Windows Device manager when you plug in the usb cable to the K-Pro?

It says "unable to recognize device". I think I have an issue with my ECU...probably have to send it to Hondata :(

IN the device manager, try right clicking and goign to properties and update the drivers for the K-Pro. YOu need to specify the location, which is the directory you have Kmanager installed in. "c:\program files\kmanager"

You can also try the K-Pro with a differnt laptop or desktop.

Did all that with no luck...

Well...swapped my ECU tonight with a friends Kpro and everything worked perfect. Swapped mine into his car and of course, we couldn't talk to it. Now I know for sure that I have an ECU problem...I'll email Hondata now. Thanks Spunkster for the info!
