SOLVED tach drops to 0 after ~4800 rpm car revs past it fine

Hi everyone,

I bought a used s300 awhile ago for my 2000 LS integra so I can ditch the emanage. Its turbo /w 310cc inj, not built or anything. The last guy had a turbo GSR, and I thought, I'm going to give his calib. a quick shot. I pop it in, disable vtec, and just do a start to see if it works. Car starts, but its a rough idle and almost wants to die. I figure its just the fact that his car must have been built and far off from my car. It was idling at 1:20AFR

Now, I finally have everything ready for a tune, and after doing research I decide to pop in a new calibration with the p74 file. I start it up, and it idles at 1:18 for the first bit, then goes down to 1:20 like last time.

Now with 310cc (and turbo at idle), I cant see the size of those injectors causing this to happen, if anything it should be running richer, correct? My only REAL concern right now is that the s300 unit is functioning right, I dont want to go in for a tune and have problems and get no where. Am I overreacting?

edit: running latest version of smanager

Does the car idle properly with the stock ECU and injectors?

yep, emanage doesnt actually modify the map signal until throttle is given so at idle its fine with stock ecu

I guess I'll post a short datalog up if anyone has ideas why its doing this. I tried both open and closed loop. I'm not sure if its using the wideband signal, but its reading correct AF in smanager so it shouldnt matter anyway.

heres a quick datalog of idle, then a rev and back to idle. after figuring it out on how to look at it, it says my AF is 10.0.... what? My ELD is visibly showing up as 2.66v set to 0-5v/10-20afr and set to the ELD for wideband analog in.

Anyway, it looks like the ELD is reporting the wrong voltage, I think I remember it being at 18afr for this run... Ill have to go do this again when I get time and better document what the wideband is saying and see what the offset is. regardless, it shouldnt be using my wideband as nothing more but a display input correct? and furthermore why is the AF showing 10???!!

edit: for map just pop in the p74 basemap

you need to post the actual calibration you are using for us to see what you have done exactly.

Oops,

I was running the stock p74 /w wideband set to D10 and disable ELD checked.

The engine isn't even at operating temperature. It is normal for it to run rich until it warms up

Its not, the AFR isnt 1:10 like its saying, I said earlier it was running at 18AFR. AF in hondata is showing as 10 for no reason, the wideband is going through ELD input, and has a voltage offset but even with the offset it shouldnt be 1:10

edit: if you look at the ELD, which is essentially the wideband on a graph, the AF doesnt follow it whatsoever

Go to Options settings and make sure your units are set to AF and not lambda. Also make sure you double click AF in the sensor list and make sure it is set to AF and not lambda.

I really appreciate the continued support Spunkster! I guess I'll have to run back to where my car is and give it another shot. I tried working with the current files but it looks like I need a whole new datalog. (Also, in options and in the sensor setup, everything was set to AF like you had said).

Its not even showing up right if it was lambda/af mismatch

Image

Wideband set to ELD, 0v=10AFR, 5v=20AFR

ELD reports 2.66v, yet AF shown as 10.12 (which would be 0.x volts). Even more odd is that where ELD goes down (wideband reporting rich), the AF goes up (lean). This confuses me as AF is just a simple conversion from ELD.

Hopefully redoing the datalog will yield better results.

HAve you actually cut the ELD wire that normally goes to the ELD or did you just tap it in?

There was no eld on the harness, canadian cars apparently dont come with it. I moved my A/C switch to ELD. Cut it, and its only hooked up to wideband analog out.

I didnt cut the resistors though. Although I heard of many people having it work without this being done.

Regardless, even with the off voltage, AF is completely working funky -- its acting backwards and not displaying the v as the correct AF

cut the resitors before doign anything else
