That one looked killer Brian, it looks like the 40* is your max efficiency. I think we can switch to what I refer to as a "blended" file where the cam angles are blended and smoothed out. I based the cam angle map on the fueling in that last datalog. I think these will maximize your efficiency, but see what you think. We can always use the old cam angles, but according to fuel demand, these should be ideal.

On your drive with this file, can you make a twenty minute datalog of the part throttle stop and go driving? I would like to get some longer detalogs to see how the low cam fuel looks in your normal driving. There might be a little clean up we can do there. WOT fueling looks solid as a rock though.

Also let me know how the vtec change over is. It might be beneficial to move vtec up a little bit, but if it feels strong during the vtec crossover then we're good.

Let me know if you have any questions about it. I didn't touch ignition yet, we're on a roll with the fueling I didn't want to throw a wrench in a progress.

Awesome sounds great. And no problem, I only cut the logs shirt for ease of use but I like longer ones myself, but sure why I didnt think of that.

Its funny its shocking how different the cams feel.

On the 20 it felt dead till 6750rpm then took of and held to redline.

The 30 picked up from 5500 pretty hard and held to 8k nice and solid, maybe a tiny bit more relaxed from 7700 and up but really not much.

The 40 cam start chugging at 4k right after its commanded, Vtec is a crazy contraption, it's cool to isolate it into parts and actually feel it working.

Sounds good! Yeah the cam angles make all the difference. I always tell people on the lower cam angles to be patient and get through these lower cam angles and then the fun begins as we move up in angle.

Let me know how it goes.

R12 Blended cam Logs.

I bumped VTec to 3900, I'm going to move it up a bit to ~4400 or so. You can feel it lose a big chunk during Crossover, theres a clear "bog" till maybe 4500. It was set originally at 4400 I think that's probably where the high cam is advantageous over low. I'll play around with it and log.

The logs over 5 mins or so won't attach here as they're too large, comical at like 5mb... what the heck.

Hi Brian,

Sorry I missed your post today. Very interesting, the car went lean again in the WOT pulls, yet your idle looked normal. We'll have to keep an eye on that. I made a few spot changes where I could. We need to find a way for you to email me the datalogs so I can get them in full size. I am thinking the part throttle fuel is quite a ways off from what i can see. It's also rich at it idle by a few percent. Let me know what we can do about emailing datalogs, we might need to spend some time on the low cam and dialing that in as well if you want.

Here is the next revision, we'll see how it looks. I moved vtec up to 4400, from what I see that should be pretty solid, maybe even a couple hundred RPM higher. But let's give it a shot.

I'm making a new email address and will get it done.

Funny too, all the logs prior to today were about 35-50°f with a DA of between 500-1250.

Today it was 73 degrees out and the DA was 3240. Crazy difference, yet I'd assume with the significantly "thinner" air its run richer. I'm sure I'm forgetting how the car interprets MAP settings or something lol.

It is weird that the 30 cam is dialed,40 is dialed, and that's all were using on the high cam but its lean.

I swear that right at crossover theres a lag in the KPro or something. The more I look at logs the more I see every car go lean or WAY rich by overcompensating at the switch.

I'll pop in Rev13 and get some good logs and PM you my email.

Thanks Kyle

Insane...

Looking at the last 30 degree Log, the AFR is almost deadlocked between 13.2-13.5:1 without fail from 4500rpm & up.

Then looking at the 40 degree logs, same thing, in fact it's damn impressive you got them to look like twins that quickly doing it remotely..

Then I look at the blended map which SHOULD just interpolate from those 2 maps and its a full Half point leaner.

I had less than a quarter tank today, whereas I am almost always above 3/4's (force of habit from older boosted crap..)

I wish I could see the darn fuel pressure at the rail!!! Maybe I will spring for the Eye candy Rail/Gauge combo.

I'm going to take this one for a spin with a full tank and closely watch the AFR one more time, just for curiosity before swapping to your most recent file. That is the one variable I'd not taken into consideration and the pump is stock with 200k+ miles on it, who knows. I've not noticed anything while driving but the cars stalled a few times at low rpm in the past, never recently. I really should've considered that prior, but it hasn't happened in a solid year, my mistake.
