Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
No problem, I think we're back on track again which is exciting. I love cars that are consistent and clean up nice, which yours is both.
Oh and Brian, try and throw in at least one WOT pull in third or fourth gear from a low rpm. Some data cells didn't populate because the pull was in second. Try to get one those long pulls in third or fourth so we get a lot of data.

Hahaha.. I had a totally empty highway a ran a standing half mile using the Launch control for once, I couldn't resist.
I'm heading out now I'll make sure to start way below Vtec

Definitely a lot more consistent. A little lean in some areas, and a little rich off the hit. I made some changes to it, take this one for a spin.
It is named Rev10 because I had a Rev09, but we will not be using it as it is no longer relevant since the IAC issue. I think one more on the 30* cam and we should be good to move on.

Sounds good. I think I had a minor VAC leak for sure, Id much rather see that 11.5:1 of the hit vs that 17:1 from before haha. I'll see how she does, and I have to say it may be in my head but it FEELS like the car from 7000-8500rpm is absolutely faster on the 30 cam than the 20. Maybe 25 is the sweet spot but it feels really solid.

Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
Yeah perhaps. See if you can make the WOT hit around 2000rpm in third so I can see the fueling a little better before you hit vtec. It looks like it's a touch lean right before vtec, and the transitional fueling may be part of the what was a lean scenario, and now a rich scenario. As I mentioned before, we will play with that for sure in the final tunes. But for now, lugging it down to 2000 rpm or so and then making the hit might help clean up a bit of that area.
I have no doubt that it feels a little better on the 30* cam. The fuel tables are supposed to essentially read like a dyno plot. And your car is demanding a little more fuel on the 30* cam at redline than your 20* cam. That tells me to run you out on the 30* cam to redline. Once we get the 30* done, then the 40* cam, I will look over the tables and build you a cam angle map that commands the most fuel at each section of fueling. It's probably a combination of proper fueling and cam angle map that makes it feel stronger. But from what I see, it wants more fuel in middle for sure, but even at redline the 30* wants for fuel.
If you want to at some point, we can play with ignition as well. I haven't seen a knock yet, so we might be able to get a little but out of it there as well. But you tell me what you want to do, just thought I would mention it.

Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
Sounds great to me. I'll get a low rpm 3rd pull if that'll be OK, the problem is to do it in 4th I need a decent bit of room as it goes to 120+ and no matter what these are torque-less wheeze monsters at low rpm. I feel like it's a 45 second single gear pull lol.
I'd love to get the cam angles dialed too and see what's up with the timing even just cleaning it up a bit, obviously whoever's tuned it really must've known nothing or it's from some wildly different setup.

Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
Yeah that is why I would recommend third gear for the pull. Little safer MPH and easier to fit into the drive.
Sounds good to me. Yeah honestly I don't know about some tuners man. I know my limits and don't claim to be anything I'm not, but some of the tunes I have seen from "dyno tuners" make me wonder how they were able to afford a dyno, much less how they got any credibility as a tuner. I even cleaned up one tune for a guy on here where his dyno tuner made one high and low fuel table and copy and pasted it into every cam angle. I was blown away, clicking through each angle and they were all the same map. I don't know, I put more work into peoples stuff for free on here than some tuners do getting paid good money. One thing about tuning, the customer may never know how bad the tune is, so lot of them can get away with it. I understand you gotta make a living, but give people their moneys worth or find something else to do.
I look forward to seeing how it looks tomorrow!

I have 2 pulls from about 1700rpm in 3rd and some from maybe 3k in 4th. Let me know if its enough data to fully populate

Hi Brian,
I am still searching for some consistency. That one was a little rich, lean before vtec though. Let's give Rev11 a try and see how it looks.
Can you also make a datalog from part throttle stop and go driving as well. I am curious how the part throttle fueling looks as well.
Let me know.

Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
I've been hunting for this stupid dyno sheet since I bought the car. The previous owner sent it to me. Blue line is with a DC5R Airbox and panel filter, Red is the AEM CAI with a 4in filter. He claims with a 6in carbon bell mouth it made a further 8whp. Exact same setup as now too. I wonder if the tune on the car previously was erased or something. Who knows.

Re: Need some more experianced help - Datalog is LEAN
Hey Brian,
The fourth gear fueling looked excellent, so I am going to say that angle is finished. I went in and made some changes to the low cam angle map. Partly to smooth out your vtec transition, but to try and smooth everything out for you. Feel free to take a look at it and let me know if you have any issues with it... I didn't change the high cam to 40*, I will leave that for you. So change that setting, but leave the low cam as it is. Then take a trip to Mexico. This will start to tell us your cam angle map for the high cam and we'll see how it looks.
It could be possible that the file got erased, but I'm not sure to be honest. Your short stop ad go driving looked okay for fueling, but I want to revisit that when we get towards the end.
So yeah, go in and change the high cam to 40* in the file attached and take it for a spin.
