vactor wrote:SUCCESS!! thanks everyone for the help. i cut the NEP wire, then connected the distributor end of the NEP wire to the output of the J&S. works like a charm. a BIIIGG thanks to EVERYONE!!
I am having the same problem in my 2000 Si. So, what is an NEP wire? I can't find it in the Haynes schematic. Thanks.

read the post:
well, like i indicated earlier, the P28 ecu is one direct from hondata so there is no conversion harness, the ecu has the OBDII plugs on it from hondata. afaik, i tried (and just checked again) connecting the NEP wire (A19, Blue) with a jumper to the ICM wire (B13, Yel/Grn), and then a 1kohm jumper from the ICM wire (B13, Yel/Grn) to the IGP1 wire (B1, Yel/Blk). still negative results. anyone else? the tachometer DOES work when i remove the J&S.

I'm trying to figure out what an NEP wire is (what does NEP stand for? or what else would it be know as in wiring diagrams), since A19 on my ECU is the A/C wire, and there are many other blue wire connected to the ECU.

NEP wire is tach signal. OBD1 doesn't have it. OBD2 however has NEP and ICM wire. You just wire it together in OBD1's ICM I/O.

You will need to contact J&S for the solution to this. I remember this happening one other time and John at J&S was able to resolve it with that customer.

Ok, on my car the NEP is the blue wire going into A17.
