05-06 k-pro
Hello Hondata, all I want to know is if the 05-06 ECU is flashable and if there is any hopes at all "just a tiny bit" that there will be a Reflash for it similar to the 02-04 #4 flash in the future. Basically I don't want full control of my ECU like KPRO, I don't plan on going turbo or full blown N/A ect. I just want a nice flash to lean out our pig rich 05's up top a bit, and maybe gains some good midrange.Hondata wrote:Given that our OBDI intellectual property has been illegally copied and incorporated into competing products, we're not going to release any in depth technical information on the ECU.AcsRcool wrote:However, I would appreciate it, and I'm sure I'm not alone, if you could elaborate a bit more on the technical issues you are facing in cracking the 05-06 ECU.
The 05 ECU is different. A KPro type solution is not possible. It is not a matter of overcoming a technical hurdle, or reading the ECU, or anything else; the ECU is different from the 02-04 and a KPro solution is not possible. You'll have to take our word on this.
I mean if there is a slight chance that a reflash is going to be available in the future, its gonna be like the holy grail for us 05-06 owners.
edit. NVM, my prayers have just been answered today. Hondata you are the best!

JDM DC 5
I am currently a S200 user.
I have a mid 2005 JDM Honda Integra Type R. I just want to make sure I understand. I can purchase a used/new 02-04 ECU, convert it to KPRO. Purchase an adaptor cable (Hondata), to be connected between stock DC5 harness and the converted KPRO ECU. Replace the stock 02 sensor with a 02-04.
What about the immobiliser ?
a) 1st option, I am willing to eliminate the immobiliser. So that I can revert to stock ECU with immobiliser. If I need to sell the car later on. Is this possible ?
b) 2nd option, Keep the immobiliser function. So that I can revert to stock ECU with immobiliser. Is it possible ?
I do want to keep running the car with the stock ECU until I received the KPRO/02-04 ECU mod, adaptor harness and 02-04 02 sensor. Swap it out.
Will there be a basemap for JDM DC-5 provided to work from ?
How different is the JDM PRC ECU from the newer mid 05 ECU. By the way, I have not open it up to check.
AEM seems to have a problem having to use the stock ECU with the AEM for, I think coolant temp and something else. Because DC5 / RSX seems to use the multiplex bus (CAN ???). Is this true ?
For KPRO, is it true that there is bug with eliminating the 180 Km per hour cut. Is this true ? Has this been resolved ?
Is there really a big difference between the RSX Type S and JDM DC-5 Type R which is about 15 HP diff. Due to tuning/etc and ported headworks.

YOu do not need an adapter for a JDM Integra, as it is the same as the 02-04 US Type S.
We do not know if the Immobilizer from a JDM vehicle can be coded to a US ecu, as we don't have these vehicles here to test.
There are no know bugs with the K-Pro as you have mentioned.
You can download the K-Manager software and see the calibrations included. WE may have a Specific DC5 ITR calibration in the future.

This is not correct...only the reflash for the 06 is not available. The same options that exists for the 05 is currently available for the 06.rdroubie wrote:I am told by Club RSX that the ECU for the Acura RSX has again been modified by Honda for 2006, and that the K-Pro set-up as for the 2005 model is not yet available for the 2006 model. Is this correct? If so, do you have an anticipated availability date for the K-Pro/2006 application?

You are right, I checked, my mid 2005 JDM DC-5 Type R ECU is :
37820-PRC-J01.
I should be able to use the stock primary 02 sensor as well, am I correct ?
The other question, is assuming I do not want the immobiliser function at all, the PRB ECU that I will purchase, modified for KPRO can just plug right in ready to go (assuming the rest is setup correctly). I do not even need to touch the immobiliser unit. Since immobiliser function is not enable in the Hondata replacement PRB/KPRO unit.
Is there any other sensors needed to be disabled, which the US Type S has over the JDM DC-5 Type R, so that CEL will not be a problem ?
