Another boring HR intake tune thread
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Overall they look pretty good. If you can, go back to making them twenty minutes in length with at least one WOT pull in third gear. And if you can make a fourth gear pull from 3000-6500 that would be great too. I want to make sure you don't have any knock in fourth gear> We had a little bit of knock in one of those on a third gear pull, so I touched up the ignition in that area.

Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
I ripped it pretty hard. Clean third gear in there, ran out of space a little in fourth. Car feels really really good.

Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Yeah it looks great. All the fuel stuff looks great, we had a few knock, some looked like a fluke when you let off the gas on a fourth gear pull, the other seemed legit so made some small changes. We might be there on this next one, take it for a spin when you can and we will see how it looks.

Feels good. I noticed a little knock later using the app with BT, probably in 4th or 5th on the freeway. Couldn't recreate it. Guessing some here or there is unavoidable. Not too worried about it.

Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
It looks really good. I made some adjustments for the knock in this dataog. As far as the 6th gear driving on the highway, take it out again and try to accelerate in 6th gear between 50-70mph or to see if you can get it to do it. The lower speed you are, and the harder you accelerate in 6th gear the more prone to knock it will be. We'll keep working on it though, overall it looks really good. We'll see how the next one looks.

Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
I didn't see anything weird here but I also have almost no idea what I am looking at. If I need to accelerate below 60 I am going to 5th at a minimum so I am not super worried about matting it in 6th at 50mph haha.

Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Yeah it all looks great, and no knock. Go ahead and make another datalog tomorrow or early next week sometime. If it stays knock free and everything looks good I think we're there.
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Hi there, not trying to get this off topic, but I just picked up the same car and have the same goals in mind as the OP. My question: what gains should you reasonably expect from this kind of tune with an intake? Thank you.
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Not sure if you're looking for info from me, or the OP. But if you check out the second post here by BRM https://www.civinfo.com/threads/hybrid- ... 349/page-2, there is a lot of good info on the intake. Sadly the dyno sheet for stock vs HR intake is no longer there, but you might find some good info to help you on power.peakay wrote: Tue Feb 22, 2022 12:57 pm Hi there, not trying to get this off topic, but I just picked up the same car and have the same goals in mind as the OP. As far as power increase, you should gain a few hp in stock form with a good tune. Then with the intake, and a proper tune, maybe 10whp at peak over stock. HR claims 14hp, which could be the case depending on factors. But if the HR intake is your only mod, then I would say maybe 10whp at peak is probably realistic. Again with a proper tune though, with a customized vtec rpm specific to your car, and the proper cam angle mapping, you might get more power under the curve in the midrange.
The one thing you can't do is run the Hybrid Racing intake on the stock calibration, which you may already know. If you try to run it on the stock tune you will have issues and perhaps a check engine light.
Final thought, the HR intake is absolutely at the top of the list in my experience. You won't be disappointed, just be sure to get a proper tune for it based on what your car likes. If you need help with the tuning just let me know.
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Just wanted to say thank you for this. I will definitely reach for you when I get the flashpro. I'm thinking I would like to tune in stock configuration for now and then take it from there.EFICU wrote: Tue Feb 22, 2022 8:47 pm Final thought, the HR intake is absolutely at the top of the list in my experience. Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Sounds good, you're welcome. Yeah definitely order up the FlashPro when you get a chance, it's worth every penny. If you order it from Heeltoe automotive, you can use the code "RISH" from a YouTuber to save you 5% right now https://www.heeltoeauto.com/engine-mana ... si-us.html. I don't have an affiliation with either, just looking out for you guys. 5% isn't much, but $35 off isn't too bad. Heeltoe is an authorized Hondata dealer and they carry a lot of great parts.peakay wrote: Sat Feb 26, 2022 10:54 amJust wanted to say thank you for this. Looks like Heeltoe carries the HR intake too, you might kill two birds with one stone. https://www.heeltoeauto.com/cold-air-sh ... 01-10.html
Just keep me in the loop when you get the FlashPro, then make your own thread, and we'll get started on it.
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
Thanks again for all your help. Waiting for a rear brake caliper to replace a dragging one so haven't been driving. Once repaired I will make a new log, probably next week. What is your paypal?
Re: Another boring HR intake tune thread
You're welcome. Just keep me in the loop on it all and we get back to it.
I'll shoot you a PM.
