Hey! Header is installed and she’s definitely running funny do you have a base to begin our cam angle tuning? The only upgrades I’m going to do is how it is now skunk 2 alpha headers and hybrid racing intake.

It shouldn't be running funny because of the header. Did everything go okay with the install? Did you have any issues mounting the primary o2 sensor, did you buy an o2 extension for the primary sensor?
Can you make a five minute datalog of it idling or something so I can look it over?

I paid a shop to install so I’m not really sure but I can data log it real quick, it only ran funny at first and then smoothed out.

Yeah make a simple short datalog, no WOT stuff. I just want to see what we're working with. I'm curious if they put a defuler or something on the primary o2 sensor to make it reach.
We'll see how the datalog looks.

Well here is an idle data log! I think the O2 voltage said 0 so now im worried its not hooked up.

Yeah that's what I was worried about. Can you get under there and take a look at the primary o2 sensor and take a picture of it? I think they put a defouler on it because the primary sensor wouldn't reach. There is a code for the primary o2 sensor in the system. Fingers crossed they didn't weld anything or do something silly. It's definitely connected, but I think they did something to make the harness and sensor reach the pipe. My concern similar to another guy I am working with on here who bought a car with a sketchy header. Look for a defouler on there like this

Well bad news is yes there’s one of those on there but it’s not welded it’s just threaded. I can’t attach a photo it’s telling me it’s too large but it’s the same thing in your photo just threaded into the o2 hole…does this mean I shouldn’t drive my car or what needs to be done to be able to get it running good.

All good on the photo, if there is one there I believe you. I swear I don't understand what shops are doing anymore. Granted they didn't know until they installed the header, but letting you guys know what they had to do would be great.
You'll need to get an o2 extension sadly. Why Skunk2 doesn't sell one with the header I don't know. But there are a few you can get, I just don't know how soon you can get one. You'll need something like these:
https://skunk2.com/2006-2014-civic-02-extension.html
https://hardmotion.com/shop/accessories ... extension/
Unfortunately there isn't anything I can do in the tune to help right now. You can make a short datalog driving it, and I can tell how bad it is, and to whether or not you should drive it. I would say if you don't have to drive it don't, but I would need to see a datalog to know how bad it is with you driving it. Just drive it normal and calm around the block or something, nothing spirited.

Will you be available tomorrow? I can’t get a data log tonight but I plan on waking up and extending the 02 sensor tomorrow and installing it all correctly and then sending you a log just to make sure the numbers are all safe. Only asking because it’s my only way to work Monday morning lol so unfortunately I’m in a bad position.

Yeah I'm around, no problem. But yeah, once you get it extended and take it for a drive, make a post in here saying you're headed out for a drive so I get the notification and I'll await the followup post with the datalog. Don't do any WOT pulls or anything, just normal driving for 10 minutes or so.

Sounds good thank you for the help! I plan on extending the wires myself I found some write ups where people have done it and I am definitely comfortable with splicing wire.

Sounds good. Take your time with it and we'll see how it turns out.

So i was able to actually pull the harness out of the bracket and get enough slack to hook up the primary o2. Does anything look better here? Or is it still not registering the O2 sensor.

Do you know if maybe I have to reset the battery to go back into closed loop?

That's awesome. Yeah things look fine now. The datalog shows it's in closed loop for part throttle, so I'm not sure what you mean by going back into closed loop, that's what you want.
You ready to get started tuning now? So we're going with the HR intake and Skunk header, stock exhaust still right?
