Looking for some guidance on a tune
Re: Looking for some guidance on a tune
this is the most recent run. maybe we should pull the ignition back up since lowering it didn't do anything?

Re: Looking for some guidance on a tune
We can, are you thinking it's false knock then if you want to raise it back up? If you feel it's false knock, then we would want to modify the knock sensitivity tables just enough to not record the knock. When it records knock like that, it cranks up the knock control value which causes the ECU to pull ignition all over to proactively try to stop the knock from happening. Then you will feel a lot less performance, and your fuel economy will probably suffer a bit too. I had to go back and look at our previous datalogs and your original one to see what exactly we changed. We're down 8* of ignition from your Mucter tune and still getting knock, so there is most likely a mechanical issue or false knock. I don't even know if it would knock with 87 octane at 20* ignition where it's knocking now, so something just seems weird is all.
If you feel like it's false knock then or not, and we'll go from there. I want you to be comfortable with whichever route we go.

Re: Looking for some guidance on a tune
I feel like each time you adjusted the ignition lower, the knock remained pretty much the same. So it seems adjusting it to be optimized wouldn't hurt. I'm favoring that it's just a false know.

Okay, let me go over the last few datalogs and look for some trends and see what we can do. Then I'll let you know my thoughts and see which route you want to proceed.
