07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Okay, it looks pretty good. I went ahead and blended out the cam angle map and everything looks good. The data says 4300 is a good engagement for vtec, so see what you think on the third gear pull on how it feels. Overall test it at 4300 and see what you think. As I'm sure you know it will only kick in at 4300 at near WOT, so you can pass through there at part throttle and it won't engage. But play with it, see what you think. We can move it up or down if you want, but this would be a good starting point.
Now go back to the 20-30 minute datalogs with the third gear WOT pull. You can drive it however you want now, just shoot the that 20-30 minute length and the clean third gear WOT pull, other than that drive it however you want. It will still take a couple revisions to smooth out the fuel now, and we may see a knock here or there as we test. But we'll see how it looks and go from there.

Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Okay sounds good.
Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Log done. Tried to vary driving in and around vtec with different gears and some part throttle no vtec. Clean WOT pull. Felt pretty good maybe 1 or 2 laggy moments going from a downshift to part throttle.

Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Yeah it looks like it's all behaving nicely. Only had one little knock, so I massaged the timing in that area. I double checked the MAF scaling to look for the laggy issues you metion, and I don't see anything too crazy. I made a couple small adjustments, but nothing major. Other than that, the WOT fueling was almost dead on, I made a couple quarter percent changes here and there to get it dialed. See how it goes with this one, in the next one, I will put in the sport pedal map and see if that helps it feel a little more solid. Sometimes in stock for they are hard to make them feel too much stronger, but the pedal map might help it feel more crisp. We'll do that in the next one, for now, take this one for the same type of drive and datalog.

Honestly i was just trying to find something to give feedback on. it may have been a driver issue lol. Also, once the new program is uploaded does it take some driving for the Ecu to relearn and adapt...if so that could have been it. Will log and post this afternoon. Thanks!
Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
No problem, I always take your feedback and see what I can do with it. We'll see how it is in this next one.
Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Log done. I did it on the way home from work after complete warmup.....kinda early WOT pull with stop and go the last 3/4. overall the car feels great from where we started. definitely an improvement over hondata's tuned/stock cal. Sorry for the delay had weather/work issues. Thanks!

Had a few knock, fueling looked good for the most part, made a few changes to tighten it up.
Same datalog and driving style on this one.

Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Yeah all three were in WOT, one in third gear, one in a first gear pull, and one when you went WOT in fifth gear at 79mph. No big deal, they are all in the area I've been trying to work on by getting the knock out but getting the ignition back in to keep the power up. I went ahead and smoothed out the ignition in that area and reduced some. Other than that it looked good, I made a couple small fuel changes to tighten up even more while we continue to work on the knock.

Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
Is this normal or could it be an engine issue? it is up there in miles 184k on the clock. I'll drive this tomorrow. Thanks!

Re: 07 SI sedan stock w/ stock tuned map plz help
It is fairly normal for some cars. I try to remove a little ignition at a time so that we can find the point of removing knock over a couple a datalogs instead of just pulling say 5* right off the bat. Sometimes it just takes a little more removal than others, which is the whole point of doing thing. It could be partly due to old spark plugs or improper plug gap, but nothing to worry about, it's only a couple degrees from where most cars are okay.
Yeah that one looked really good. WOT fuel was dead on and the MAF scaling still looks great. Go ahead and make another datalog with that same calibration and let's see if it stays knock free over a few days. Also, on the drive, keep making that third geat WOT pull, but also do a fourth gear WOT pull from 3000-7000 to make sure we don't have any knock in fourth gear. Other than those third and fourth gear pulls, drive it however you want, you can even do some freeway/highway driving to see how it is at steady speed. Totally up to you, mainly just checking for random knocks from your normal day to day driving is all, the bulk of the work is now done.

Okay, I'll log tomorrow. Car felt great today. Also, you mentioned something about sport pedal? Just curious what that is or what changes were made? 1 more thing after new cal is uploaded does it take time for ecu to learn....i.e. car felt much better today?
