i can deffinitely say the fuel maps are horrendously off for use with 450cc injectors in an h22 though

i was referring to stoich a/f's at partial throttle for stock engines. bone stock, they should run stoich, and run best at stoich; for partial throttle, up to 1/3 or even sometimes 1/2 throttle
It's a starting point... if you are a well established tuner you would have a library of maps or previous tunes base tunes to start from. Converting a S200 tune to a S300 map shouldnt be a problem.
i'm mainly a crome pro tuner. and often times the fuel values between crome and hondata dont coincide well.

Baseline run made 160hp and about 140 ft/lb of torque on a DynoJet. After tuning we got it up to 175.5hp and 151 ft/lb with a/f at around 13.5 @WOT. So the map has been proven to work as a starting point. Runs VERY rich, but it runs.
thanks for posting this cb7. i'll try to get a second "opinion" this weekend. then there will be 2 posts of proof for how the base calibration works out.
btw, when you ran the base in your car on the dyno, what size injectors were in the car?

I'm running stock 310cc injectors

Few questions regarding the H22 calibration. Is it for the DSM 450cc injectors? Is the honda resistor box required as well?

They were actually RC 440cc injectors using no resistor box (saturated).

The reason it says 450 is because the injector multiplier is translated as a 450.

So will this calibration work the same way using DSM 450cc with resistor box?

Do not use DSM 450cc injectors. Their characteristics are not suitable for the Honda ECU.

Alright, thanks for the heads up.

dsm 450cc bluetop injectors are the most commonly used injectors in low boost turbo hondas of all makes and models. they work excellent, and they are perfect for the ecu. they just require the use of a resistor box if the car didnt come with one stock.
the preludes i mainly work with just happen to have come with resistor boxes stock, so dsm 450cc injectors are a direct swap, with a tune of course

i've also installed tons and tons of dsm injectors in other hondas as well, just had to install a honda or dsm resistor box. works perfect.

as for the h22 calibration, i never got the chance to test it out in a stock h22 yesterday at the prelude meet. the hondata ecu i was tuning for someone was non-vtec, for his non-vtec prelude, so i was unable to use it in a stock h22 prelude for testing. i'll test it next time i am workin with a vtec hondata ecu

How do i know if mine has a resistor box?? I was told they dont come stock with resistor boxes... What year preludes are you referring to?

all 92-96 preludes have resistor boxes. all 97-01 preludes dont.

wrong prelude calibration

I'm not happy about this topic at all. Why in hell would hondata put out a calibration for a stock prelude that's wrong? Why doesn't anyone do anything about it? It's beyond effed up. I've had nothing but problems with my car and noticed the 450cc reading in the fuel trim of the SManager and immediately thought to myself, "No fukkin' way!"

Been trying to get it right ever since, hadn't had any luck. Ran lean at first, now I have it rich.
I have slight mods; intake, exhaust, clutch & flywheel, underground pulley kit, nothing too major, but it doesn't idle right, stalls, and a slight misfire.
:(
If anyone has any guidance, feel free to share the wisdom.

If you're using factory injectors, change that 450 to 290, highlight the entire fuel map and press CTRL+D about 7 times (estimated) till it starts to run not too rich. Wideband sensor necessary for this task. I had a perfect calibration street-tuned back when this thread first started (oct 2006), but have long since lost it. I did fashion up another calibration and it should be in the s300 calibration topic.

Ohkay, just to be sure.. Do I keep the reading of stock fuel injectors at 310 or change that to 290 as well?
Thanks man.

should set it to what your actual injector size is. I've heard 3-4 different injector sizings for ludes so i'm unsure what its actual size is.

Yea, I'm not sure either. Tried calling Honda but they can't even tell me. I was like, "You're the dealer, and you can't answer this question!? WTF.."
Thanks for the help pal, I got that calibration off of the Forum.. Seems to be running right finally.
