I disconnected the wide band at the sensor and the gauge. I found it interesting that in the display, my wideband data is still showing and still fluctuating around 14.5-15.3 afr with nothing connected....lol... I wired it into the ELD circuit, and I believe I used the sensor ground for the OEM air fuel sensors. I shouldn't have to pull the wires off, as they aren't physically connected to anything. I switched the sensor option to ECT2 and the data dropped to 8.5v which is the range I have set.
Anyway, Vtec is still engaging early. I'm considering looking for another ecu to test incase something died inside.
Thoughts?
Would be nice if someone else reading these would check their logs and see if their vtec is doing anything strange.

I did some digging in the Honda ECU circuits, and turns out this model has an ECT 2 and it has a factory ELD.. so I'm screwed for inputs for my wideband to datalog. But i'm going to see if any of this caused the issue due to feedback in the ECU. I hope there was no damage.

Ok, final update...
Problem solved!!!
So, I'm a Honda tech... I decided to uninstall my "live tuning" feature so I could use the Honda scanner to look over live data. I hooked up and found I had a code in the system. P0715 Mainshaft speed sensor malfunction. The code wouldn't clear, and yet it never set my check engine light. I set up a customer data list and watched the rpm signal from the crank vs the mainshaft speed sensor data and found as early as 2500rpm the signal was fluctuating wildly... I had a spare sensor and swapped it in... problem solved. Vtec looks at the mainshaft speed sensor for its rpm signal. I looked through all my Honda troubleshooting, and NOTHING explained this or led me to inspect this.
Interesting about the live tuning tables... when they are active, when I connect my Honda scanner and try watching live data streams it stalls my engine. The engine starts stumbling like it lost 2 cylinders randomly until it dies.
Anyway, thanks for the ideas to hunt down the issue!
