Okay good to know. The intake came with the car so I’ll probably upgrade to the Hybrid Racing intake when I get a Header. So I’ve got to know, why do you help tune strangers’ cars for free? So far, the Honda community has been really supportive and friendly and I’m just overall surprised with the amount of helpfulness here and on the subreddit.

Sounds good, the Hybrid intake is a great choice and worth the money. That also makes the tuning process easier for you to do them together if you're able to, if not, they can be done in stages with no issue. I would recommend to do the intake before the header, if you have to do it in stages. Tuning for the header would be great to have all the pieces to the puzzle on the car for that.

To be honest I help out because it's a guilty pleasure. There is something about the process that I enjoy. But mainly it was from seeing guys who were more terrified about something happening to there car instead of enjoying the car. What's the point of having these cars if we can't enjoy them? I would see guys so scared something was wrong with the tune, then I could tell it was something very small and easy to fix. Another key is that spending money on a tune isn't cheap these days, and I would see guys risk driving on a poor tune because they couldn't afford a proper tune, or wanted to wait a while before spending the money. For those reasons is mostly why I help out, but I never imagined it would turn into this. Haha. I'm trying to come up with some type of small payment system for the work with you guys that benefits everyone, but for this moment, I leave it all up to you guys if you want to send something. My main thing is not having someone choose to run a bad tune because they don't have the money for a good one, that's my main goal, and will always be. But now with 25 cars in my current customer que, and over 100 in the past twelve months, it's getting to be a little time consuming, but manageable.

Well I think what your doing is great. I should be able to get another datalog for you later today, it’s hard to find a nice level stretch of road that I can get up 85 in, but I’ll try.

Thank you! Yeah see what you can find, if you know of a fresh paved road or something like that, it can usually yield some usable results.

Sorry, I couldn't find time yesterday to get some runs in but I just did a few pulls today. I think I did around 2 WOT throttle pulls from third in this log. The roads were still sorta bumpy sadly as I couldn't really find a long stretch of new road. Hopefully, they are usable. Btw it was around 80ish today so I could feel the heat soak kicking in after driving for a bit.

The datalog looked really good. I would have to guess the stretch of road you made one of the third gear pulls was downhill because it said 219whp. But overall the average power from your pulls isn't that impressive honestly, but again the software isn't 100% accurate, so who knows. I would say between the intake and stock cat it's holding things back a little, but it should be a little higher than these numbers. That and we didn't custom tune this for your car either, that could be leaving a little power on the table and points out why I like tuning them for each car individually.

Here is how drastically different pulls can be in the same datalog. These were your two pulls from today.

Here is the next revision for you. I made just a couple fuel changes, other than it's pretty much there.

Okay great, thanks for all the help. Hopefully I’ll get a header and CAI in a couple months and we can go from there if you’re willing. I don’t have a lot of money as I’m a broke high school kid, but going forward I’d be glad to pay you for any new tunes.

No problem, don't worry about the money. Still pretty nice to be in high school and have an 8th gen though. Haha.

With the K&N intake, some like to be tuned on the MAF sensor and some are more responsive being speed density tuned. The main thing is to watch for knock if you're running 91 octane, if you have 93 or higher you would be okay to start on a Hondata basemap.

Do you have plans to add a race header or any other performance mods in the near future, or is this your combination into the foreseeable future?
Hello. I am currently new to the hondata scene and was wondering if there's any way you could help me with my basemap/calibrations. Thanks

good day, my name is Jeremy. I have a 2009 Honda Civic Si, and I've been trying to make a hondata Flash Pro base tune that makes my car run faster, but I've had no luck. I need help and am looking for someone to assist me in achieving that goal. I have an after-market cold air intake, an Exedy competition spring-loaded clutch, and I'm lost when looking at calibrations pls help
