Ok bro i understand the issue here.

I will do my best searching for that info, i bought the car a month ago, and the previews owner bought the car just like it is now with that engine, the only thing that i know is that the original K20z3 was blown because of the rain combined with the skunk2 CAI, so the easiest way to fix it was buying the k24 block, and they reused the k20 head.

Also the previews owner told me that the car has a bronze clutch but he dont know everything more.

I will search again, but if i dont find something useful, do you recommend to try new sparkplugs? I will make the service on the car soon so i can buy them, the only thing here is that i dont know if the IK22 denso sparkplugs (OEM) are just fine, or it needs another?

Thank for the explanaiton bro

Yeah one thread I looked at, some guy said his belt was the problem and some guy said another completely different thing. Haha. That's why it's hard to narrow down a fix. You're the first one I've encountered with a misfire issue on an 8th gen, so I don't have any good direction to point you to unfortunately.

We can turn off the misfire detection in the tune so it won't trip the check engine light, but I would rather make sure you don't have an actual misfire instead of putting a bandaid on it. I don't like bandaids on tunes, I'd rather address the issue directly.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to put plugs in it, especially if you don't know the history on them. If they were the plugs in the engine when it hydrolocked, then it would definitely be good to swap them as good maintenance. The NGK plugs are considered to be the best, NGK 7746.

If you want to do a quick test to make sure it's not the coil packs, take the two middle coil packs and move them to the outside cylinders, and take the two outside coil packs and put them in the middle two cylinders. Then run another datalog. If the misfire follows the coil pack then we know it's the coil packs. Right now, it's the two outside cylinder that are showing a misfire, so if we swap coil packs we can see if the misfire follows. You could also make sure the coils are plugged in tight as well and there aren't loose connections.

Also, the current calibration you're driving on is plenty safe for now while we work out the issue. Just don't do any heavy WOT stuff while we look into the misfire issue.

Whats up men, its me again, i will make the service on the car soon, so i will have a new datalog for you, i will change everything as posible.

On the other way, today will be a little friendly runs at nigth, is there any danger to make some pulls? I feel the car soft but i cannot make more that 7500 rpms, can you make a little calibration to run tonight with the better performance as posible? Or it is dangerous?

Okay sounds good. Unfortunately we don't really have any data to turn it up. Plus if the misfire is legit, then I don't know much I would go out and beat on it. A random misfire isn't the end of the world, but it's hard to say how many misfires it's detecting either. So I would take it easy is the best advice I can give you.

I understand bro, no problem.

Today i will go to de dyno, aproximately in 3 hours, do you want to have a datalog from the two runs?

If you're taking it to get dyno tuned you don't need to send me anything.

Not dyno tuned bro, just dynoed.

On that dyno there are no tuners, i just want to see how many hps my car has, thats why i asked you if you want a datalog

I see. It's not going to make any power, it's only running on the 15* cam angle. We haven't completed the tune because of the misfire issue we were trying to diagnose.
