It's been a few years living with these gremlins. But now things have gotten worse.
I used to have a random issue of trying to start the car and immediately the engine light would stay on while cranking and after fire up.. It would start up, but misfire. I would then cycle ignition and restart, and all is well.
This issue started few years ago , but happend maybe very 10 start cycles. Logging is impossible while it happens. Becuase kpro doesn't go online while scenario happens.
Now that car been standing for a year, this same issue is there 70% of the time.
You asked me before to log scenario, but it is impossible without coms.
It's gotten so bad now, that often it wont even misfire when the gremlin presents itself, it just wont start, while engine light remains on. And when this scenario occurs, I noticed no led lights come on at the ecu at all.
Often also, after a successful startup, the engine light would come on, and I lose cons.
There is never an error code, becuase there is no coms to see an error when it happens.
I always suspected that kpro board was perhaps not made to connect to ecu securely. Bad solder joints maybe? Faulty kpro board?

I tested the ecu in a different car. It immediately gave a P0600 error
Serial communication link malfunction.
What does this mean?

I am constantly loosing coms with ecu. Manager is repeatedly re establishing connection , every few seconds.
For a while green led was on and red flashed. Now green is on and no red at all. Yet this was while I did have coms with k manager. This is not supposed to happen like that.
Airfuel is stuck at 20 also. Engine sounds horrific.
HONDATA PLEASE HELP . Something is seriously wrong.

Did you ECU work in the other vehicle when you tried it? Ignore the P0600 error for now; without knowing what vehicle it was and what you calibration is it not possible to diagnose that error just yet.

Prc kpro4 done by hondata.
Updated firmware becuase I have ethonal wired in. Not activated yet though.
ECU worked briefly in other vehicle, as does often in mine.
But there was also the coms problem, WHICH CANNOT BE LOGGED.

What is the voltage measure at the ECU using a multimeter when cranking the engine when this occurs?

On what pins should I check?

A2 + and A5 ground.

Ok will check tomorrow.

13.8 volts across pin A2 and A5 while engine runs. Regardless of the coms issue being there or not.

Did you measure when cranking when the problem occurs?

The cranking problem was a previous issue that was not often.
Issues now are far more common as mentioned above posts.
Please read them.
I'm waiting for a kpro from another car to test in a few days. Then well know if it's the ecu.

Please go a read the errors that was sent to hondata directly from software. There was a few that was sent while issues happend, like coms loss.

Have you looked at the info sent via software?
