This is for troubleshooting to help see where the problem might be.

What do you mean by you had to modify it to make it fit? Did you de-pin anything when installing this?

i just had to swap the plugs, the pin layout was the same. the only thing was the part that goes to the camshaft. this is larger at the acuras, but was easy to swap. and yes, i took care not to install it 180° reverse! the ignition cables on the cap are also exactly like mine were.

There is no difference between an Acura and a Honda distributor key. They are all interchangeable. In fact they are all interchangeable from a D,H, F or B series engine.
Did you de-pin anything with the CPR harness when you installed it?

So not it does not fire all 4 cylinders at the same time but the firing order is wrong? The only thing you have changed is the distributor? What is the part number of this distributor? Did all 3 tabs line up to bolt the distributor on?

yes sir. it is a td-86u distributor. the housing and cap is a bit larger, but the holes fit perfectly! and also the timing matched with the stock one.

maybe this helps also.
the colours of the cables to the coils are:
#1 yellow
#2 blue
#3 brown
#4 white
on the cpr plug viewed from the cables and lock on top:
black, red, yellow/red, purple, space, yellow, blue, brown, white
green is under yellow/red
