s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfect!
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
I have now tried with the latest version, started the car first time today and in closed loop, starting af was 13-14 for some seconds, i went down to 14.7 -15 and stayed there for like 5 sec and then Went right out of scale, 0.2 v showing from o2. i then put the car in open loop and the af Went straight to 14-15 the o2 was showing 0.6 and around that value for a while then Went to 3.79. put it back in closed loop and and 0.2v and out of scale.
And in this new version of smanager i cant even adjust the short term fuel trim?? its all grayed out...
conclusion: The ECU knows its going lean, but does not care. even with short fuel trim in 0% it goes lean.

Are you using a factory narrow band sensor?
Can you please post the current calibrations in both open adn closed loop and also the datalogs showing the issue. Please make sure the datalog is more than a few seconds long.

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Yes, stock honda.
i recorded 60 sec of open loop, and about 30 sec of closed, didnt want to have the car running that way.
Why cant i adjust the short fuel trim and other stuff in the new version???

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
I had what sounds like exactly what happened to you. I ended up having to change my injector dead time settings to get the car to run well in closed loop.
you can search my posts to find out how I did it.
By the way, I'm from Finland.. former neighbors.

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Any solution to this or suggestions Hondata? I´ve tuned EMP's car and did all the tuning in open loop, with the o2 sensor disabled, because we do not want any short term trims being applied while tuning, and we do not want long term trim either. EMP's car has 1000 cc ID injectors and runs on E85, turbo B16a2.
Started tuning another car the other day, did it the same way in open loop. Started adjusting idle and cruise and then I tried switching over to closed loop and it again, as EMP's car goes very lean. Did the rest of the tuning in closed loop with 0% short term trim before the cars alternator broke down so we had to stop tuning. That car had 750 cc RC injectors and also runs on E85, supercharged B16a2.
Is there something I´m doing wrong when tuning? Shouldn´t the engines run at the same AFR in closed and open loop when at the same load and rpm? Open loop is just disabling the stock o2 sensor right? Both ECU´s where resetted before tuning, so no or minimal long term adjustment was being added.
Is there something I´m doing wrong? Could this have anything to do with the injector deadtimes?

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Since no calibrations with matching datalogs have been posted it impossible to guess what could be happening.
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
I've now posted the calibrations for closed and open loop. The datalogs is already posted in one of EMP's above posts. Hope this is enough since I don't have access to his car to try changing something myself. The fuel curves are a Little jagged and so on, but we had several problems with the turbocharger, spark plugs and so on so there was little time left for tuning.

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Are you using a wideband to measure the Air fuel ratio?
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Yes of course! But the wideband isn't plugged in to the ECU on the datalogs.
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
If you are concerned about the fuel curves I thought I might post the calibration of the B16 JRSC Civic that had the same problem. Unfortunately I haven´t got any datalogs for it but It might help in some way. This is where we ended before the alternator broke down. Low cam almost finished, haven´t started with high cam yet. But these fuel curves are smooth, and that is how my fuel curves usually look. I am very familiar with Hondata and think I know the program quite well. Thank you for your time.

Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Can you input the wideband signal into the ECU so we can actually see what hte air fuel ratio is.
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Unfortunately I can't do that but I will try to get EMP to do this and send it to me or post it in this thread. Since it's not my car I can't give any better information at the moment. Is this something that you can recognize at all from other Hondas or is it something you have never heard of?
Re: s300 closed loop running super lean, open loop is perfec
Did this issue ever get resolved? Im having pretty much the same issue as the original poster
