I just got a P61 ECU to install my new S300 (I am switching from P28+S200). I got the P61 mainly because I wanted the knock sensor. Today I connected the ECU just to see if it works before installing the S300. Engine started, I got a CEL after a while (expected, I am using a PLX wideband with narrowband simulation and so the ECU does not see the O2 heater). I drove the car, everything seemed normal. I floored it and guess what... no vtec and rev limiter at 6800rpm. I thought the P61 had vtec and 8000 rev limiter. Any ideas? Is it because of the CEL? I thought the O2 heater was not affecting ECU operation.
How do I know if I got a real P61 and not a P06 in a P61 case? Next to the 28pin socket position, there is a board that does not exist in my p28. Is it the knock sensor? Thanks guys.
