Is s300 working
sure, again, I have a solid red light next to the usb connector when I start up s300. It seems like I am able to upload info to the ecu because I opened a new map, changed the fuel trim, uploaded it (got a flickering green light as the red light was still constant). I then closed the map, opened a new stock map, then downloaded from the ecu to my map. It asked me to make sure I check the settings, and in fact it changed the stock map to what I had previously uploaded to the ecu. I then turned the car on, and it ran and idled (not well but I dont think that is the s300 causing that). The reson I was asking is because on the "display" window, my map, rpm, and the rest of the values never changed (I wasnt sure if I needed to choose "enable datalogging on the parameters tab" to make this work). I dont receive any error messages, but the upload goes really fast. I just wanted to make sure that #1 if the s300 was installed incorrectly, would I get an error when uploading to the ecu? and #2 if the ecu was toast, would I get an error.......thats all.Hondata wrote:As per our previous post, can you describe the order of lights from the USB connector? There is a chance that the red and green LEDs have been switched.
thanks again for your time!
I have no idea what this means. I plug the USB connection into the s300, I have a solid red light, no green lights. The only green lights I see are a quick flicker when I upload to the ecu (and the red light stays on while this is happening).....Hondata wrote:Is it "USB connnector / green LED / red LED" or "USB connnector / red LED / green LED" ? Is important to know for sure.

is the green light to the left or to the right of the red light?mark3000 wrote:I have no idea what this means. I plug the USB connection into the s300, I have a solid red light, no green lights. OH, OK, I see what hondata was asking now. I belive (and I can verify this tonight) it goes usb > green light > red light.....but I will need to double check.spektrum wrote:is the green light to the left or to the right of the red light?mark3000 wrote:I have no idea what this means. I certianly will! You guys rock. Ill just bring the whole ecu into work, so I can verify the led's and the pin placment...spektrum wrote:ok cool.
he basically wants to verify if when the board was created, that they might have mis-installed the LED's and that would be the reason for the constant red light.
i would just double check tonight what the exact placement of the LED is and post it up.

just from my observation, it looks like the lights are installed "backwards". You get a flashing green light while uploading but you should be getting a flashing red light. And you are getting a solid red light when you should be getting a solid green, so it seems to be like they are switched around.Hondata wrote:The red light should flash briefly for about 0.5s after the ignition is switched on. Also the red light will flicker when uploading or datalogging.
May be Hondata can confirm that, but that's my theory. And I believe you do have to enable datalogging from Parameters inorder to get dataloging to work.
Thanks! Im going to bring it into work with me tomorrow so I can verify this stuff....I HOPE thats the case, I can live with that.sleepyhatch wrote:just from my observation, it looks like the lights are installed "backwards".
